Katie & Liam
7th May 2018
Eden Wedding Barn, Swillings Ln, Little Musgrave, Kirkby Stephen, CA17 4PQ
Katie & Liam were married on the 7th May 2018 at one of the newest and most stunning boutique wedding venues in Cumbria. Eden Wedding Barn at Little Musgrave is an unassuming and authentic touch of class which Katie and Liam stumbled over by chance by a member of the family attending a party there.
Katie and Liam already had their wedding booked at a different location and issued out their ‘Save the Date’ cards. Katie spent hours and hours getting the venue prepared and looking ‘the best it’s ever been’. The details are what made this wedding run like a ‘dream’ from the ‘toffee vodka’ favours to the magnificent floral displays. The Flower Shop (Kirkby Stephen) excelled in the centre pieces and bouquets.
Katie says “We had been engaged a year and a half and decided to start looking at venues, we looked at Blaithwaite House near Wigton, we looked it so booked it almost immediately, after about 4 months, having not don’t anything for the wedding we both looked at each other and decided we needed to change the venue as we have changed our minds, so the stress was on to find a new venue, considering we had already sent out save the dates. We then looked at Eden Barn as my mum and sister were attending a party there, we instantly fell in love, the only problem was the 12th of May, our original wedding date, wasn’t available, so we booked the 7th of May and had to, very embarrassingly, send our change the dates! But we wouldn’t have had it any other way! It was the most perfect day and venue we could have ever wished for!”

Katie & Liams Story
We met while working at the Tufton arms hotel (Appleby), I had worked there since I was about 13, mum got me the job, Liam started in the summer of 2011. Our first date was to the cinema and it was the worst film we have ever seen! We moved in together in 2015 at Carlisle! Callie our dog came along that summer and then we moved to Cockermouth in 2017. In the future we hope to start something on our own, Liam is very keen to have his own restaurant and that’s the dream!
Liam proposed on the 4th February 2015 on a holiday to Spain he took me on for my 21st birthday, it was perfect.
We were in Cortez, Liams mum and dad have a house there! Liam took me for my 21st birthday. He told me he had a surprise on Wednesday. I woke up on Wednesday morning and I could here Ed Sheeran ‘Thinking out Loud’ playing. I walked down stairs and there were pieces of paper every few steps. I picked them up one by one and they all had reasons why he loved me, as I got down the stairs there was a final note on the door, it told me to open the door. As I did Liam was there in front of me on one knee. It was so beautiful, romantic and personal!
THE DRESS – ‘I DO’ Cockermouth, Montgomery by Maggie Sorretto
My dress shopping was so relaxed. I booked an appointment at I do as I hadn’t tried any dresses on and I just wanted to have a little look. Mum came with me, we picked around 10 dresses with the help of the lady in the shop. I put the first one on and loved it, but there was so many to try on. I put on the second one, walked out to mum and she burst into tears, as did I and the lady. I fell in love with it but didn’t want to settle so tried on more but couldn’t get it out of my head. I put it on again and I just knew it was the one.
